Explore the Hunt Library

Online Libraries make research easier for students who are not able to use the school library on campus. I have used several online Libraries at other institutions and this one is user friendly and easy to navigate. The drop down tabs, search bar, and labeled tabs make searching the online library simple. The online Hunt Library will be one of my main sources for research because it provides reliable scholarly articles which are great for a variety of research topics. The Hunt Library is a great asset for my studies because it will alleviate stress due to a lack of time free time during the week I am not able to go to the main campus library. Technology has improved to allow us to view journals, research articles, and books digitally. Sitting home and doing research on the online Library makes school manageable with a family and a full time job.
The information we gather from scholarly articles provides us with supported documents that have been peer reviewed through a system of credibility. Google is a great tool for doing research, however; we must be very careful during the research process to ensure the information is valid and true. Google opens the door to websites that have not necessarily been reviewed and cited for credible evidence. I decided to take a look at what pops up in Google when I type in leadership concepts, not to my surprise I am connected to several websites that are not deemed reliable sources for information, such as Wikipedia. These sources I do not use because of the lack of credibility and reliability for information.
The online library, which offers scholarly peer reviewed articles, must go through a review process which include critiquing in order to be published as peer reviewed. Article are peer reviewed but this does not free them from flaws and misconstrued details. The overall goal is to provide reliable information that may be used and cited as credible documentation.
Finally, by having an online library students can do research all hours of the day and are not limited to specific hours. I for one do not do work at 2 a.m., however; having online access 24/7 does give the freedom to work all hours of the day leaving very little room for tardiness. The online Hunt Library will be a great tool to use for the MSLD program and will be useful for all /future research. This is not to limit my research to the online Library but to assist with the research process.
